For 30 years, The Goddard School has been a trusted name among families. Its classrooms are safe, nurturing environments for children six weeks to six years, offering age-appropriate opportunities to explore and discover. Trained teachers lead each child to reach developmental milestones, preparing the children for social and academic success.
The Goddard School located in Fayetteville, AR will be holding its grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 11 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There will be face painting, refreshments, games, activities and more! New families that enroll at the event will receive 50% off their first month’s tuition! This is a great opportunity to meet the owners, Brooks and Amie Coatney, and experience the School’s play-based F.L.EX.® Learning Program in action.
The F.L.EX.® Learning Program (Fun Learning Experience) is grounded in research on how children learn best: children experience the deepest, most genuine learning when they are having fun. It’s designed to help build each child’s emotional, academic, social, creative and physical skills – including 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking – to provide a well-rounded experience and help prepare each child for success in school, career and life. The preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms integrate this play-based learning philosophy into their lesson plans.
In the preschool classroom, children use a variety of interesting, hands-on learning and reading materials to make play more complex and challenging. The students’ play also becomes more social and cooperative as they build their social skills, make friends and learn to collaborate.
Children continue their journey of exploration and discovery in the pre-kindergarten classroom. Teachers help them apply their developing literacy and math skills through fun, purposeful learning experiences. Customized lesson plans allow students to learn from their teachers and from interactions with other children.
The Goddard School’s Educational Advisory Board (EAB) evolves and shapes Goddard’s play-based learning program, putting research into action and empowering children to become school-ready, career-ready and life-ready. The EAB is a knowledgeable group of educators, researchers and experts in child development, early learning, technology integration, brain development, parent engagement and health and nutrition.
Results of a recent review by Children’s Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA) show that Goddard School students score 45% higher on mathematics and literacy assessments than their non-Goddard peers. These findings were verified by Hanover Research, an independent third-party research firm. The CPAA is an early childhood assessment system that assists teachers in making informed and individualized instructional decisions.
