Meet the NWAMB Contributors!
Hello readers! I’m Allison, a wife, mommy, and educator just trying to be a little better today than I was yesterday. I grew up in Rogers and can’t imagine living outside of Northwest Arkansas. I’ve been married to Mike, my high school sweetheart, for fourteen years. We experienced deep loss and great joy as we built our family, and are so thankful to have three precious, energetic little boys. Josey (8), Gavin (4), and Parker (1) keep the house full of (loud!) noises and non-stop laughter. When I’m not in the classroom you’ll find me watching my boys play sports, attempting to make a craft project I saw on Pinterest, or out and about listening to my husband’s local band play a show.
Hi I’m Myka! I married my other half, Lee in 2009 and we adopted our four legged baby, Spike shortly after. I have been the co-owner of a local bridal/formal wear shop, She Said Yes Bridal since 2014, and my most recent title is “mommy” to Roman Asher as of September 1, 2016! I believe popcorn and coffee should be its own food group. I love fashion, good food (because who likes bad food), and traveling! I am surrounded by amazing super moms and I feel like I am just a normal girl who has an adorable baby. Having a small human is such a beautiful adventure with lots of twists and turns…you know like taking the scenic route on a road trip…without GPS…let the journey begin!
Hi! I’m Jenna, lifelong Bentonville native and wife to my junior high sweet heart, Bryan. I’m a Mom to two boys, Hudson and Rhett, ages 6 and 3, with a third baby boy, Sawyer, on the way in early 2017! I’m a nurse by trade, but hung up my stereoscope two years ago to stay home full time and I am currently working as an online fitness coach and life style blogger. I love running, warm chocolate chip cookies (hence the running) and about every form of coffee. I’m very passionate about NWA and so excited about sharing on NWAMB. I can’t wait to “meet” y’all!

Lisa is a Northwest Arkansas transplant, having moved here for her undergraduate degree over 10 years ago. After attending graduate school for Agricultural Economics, she married her husband, Brett, and ended up in a private brand Product Development Position with the world’s largest retailer. Once their daughter Epley was born (March 2015), Lisa needed a more relaxed pace. Now working from home for a major textiles company, Lisa is chasing around a toddler and a Chocolate Labrador named Chief (October 2014) while carving out time to explore her passion of writing and blogging. An avid Razorback fan, Lisa loves cooking, playing golf, enjoying a glass of red wine, having dance parties with Epley, snuggling with Chief, and watching a backed-up DVR with her husband.
Jenny grew up in Lenexa, KS and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in marketing. This is where she met the love of her life and together they have two fun-loving and spunky daughters, Jules (3) and Jess (2). Her kids have brought them so much joy, and also what she likes to call “mommy chaos”. Her girls keep her life busy but her real estate career keeps her busier working the real estate market by listing and selling homes within Northwest Arkansas. In her downtime she loves a piping hot cup of coffee, Netflix marathons, boating/wakeboarding Beaver Lake, and a good laugh with friends. You can catch up on real estate with Jenny at her blog or on her website at www.NWARHomes.com.
I am a working mom turned SAHM after the birth of my 3rd girl in less than 4 years (hello daycare expenses!). I am excited and terrified to add a FOURTH kiddo (A BOY!) in January 2017. Our household will surely be busy when he comes home to a 6, 5, and 2 year old running around!
I call Chicago home, even though I grew up in a constantly moving military family. NWA is starting to feel more like home–such a wonderful place to have littles, explore the outdoors, and live life without feeling like you need to break the bank.
When I’m not doing ALL the things mommy related, I like to sit quietly and stare at the wall, (JK), but I do end up doing it for about 10 minutes before I remember ALL the things I love that I should be doing, like running, yoga, climbing, organizing something, drinking coffee, and being in the sunshine.
Hi there! I’m Ashley, married to my one of a kind husband, John, mama to my wild toddler named Rhett, and another baby boy due in December. The more outnumbered I get, the more domestic I try to become! I love cooking, and am currently trying to teach myself to sew. I work from home part-time in the non-profit field, am very involved in the women’s ministry at church, love volunteering, and have a passion for connecting moms from all walks of life to one another. Being born and raised in NWA, I have a great love and appreciation for our little community and have enjoyed watching it grow and change over the years. On a typical weekend you’ll find me spending time outdoors with my little family, calling the hogs, or out to dinner with friends at one of our fave local spots. I’m excited to be a part of what NWAMB will have to offer the moms of NWA!
Hello NWA! I am Audra. I’m a wife, mom, teacher, and not always in that order. I moved in July from Ohio, where a friend said “You must really like your husband to quit your job and follow him to Arkansas.” I am grateful for both a wonderful husband and a fabulous new community! We have two daughters, ages 8 and 5, and while I am enjoying more time with my family, I am missing the career that I loved. In my free time I enjoy biking with my family, travel, reading and food (probably food most of all!) I am so excited to explore all the beautiful NW Arkansas has to offer.
Kathleen is the mom to four little boys, including identical twins. She moved to North West Arkansas from Hong Kong about two years ago. In addition to her kids, Kathleen enjoys writing about travel, food, and her expat experiences abroad. Kathleen considers her parenting style to be free range and she likes to tell it like it is.
I’m Lauren – but I’m known by many names [Lo, Schiller, Wiz, Mama.] Because at the end of the day, If we’re honest with ourselves, we’re more than just one woman, aren’t we? Sarcasm is my second language and I have a weird obsession with anything grapefruit flavored. I’ve lived in Bentonville most of my life, but escaped briefly to the NYC area for school where I met my husband Kyle. We had some great East Coast adventures but grad school and family led us back to Northwest Arkansas. Seven years later, I have a corporate gig that I love and am mommy to an amazing one year old boy named Seton who keeps us laughing all.the.time. Each day has its own unique set of challenges, but we always find time to laugh. And snuggle. Snuggling is important.
Jessica lives in NWA with her Spanish teacher hubby, two sons (Sept. 2014 & Nov. 2016), and crazy cat Mambo. She has taught music in the area since 2004 and is currently the director of Jubilee Music, a Music Together® center offering early childhood music and movement classes in Bentonville. Originally from West Texas, Jessica came to NWA to see what rain, trees, and hills looked like and fell in love with the region. In between chasing tiny humans, she and her husband like to travel the world, make music together, and enjoy a fine cup of coffee.
Hello! I am Tanya (pronounced like the infamous skater NOT the famous country singer!) I am wife and mother of 3, Chicagoland native, who was lured to the “South” in June 2016, for promise of warmer weather. I met my super awesome husband more than 20 years ago, and together we have battled and successfully raised two teenage girls (now 18 & 17) and are gearing up for our last trip to Awkwardsville with our 12 year old son. I am semi-crunchy (in that I make my own deodorant), wanna-be vegetarian (but I don’t really like veggies), who enjoys binge watching documentaries, being outside (but only when its warm!) and most of all, helping others.
Hi, I’m Shannon! There’s a saying that says, you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl, and that sums it up for me. I grew up in Fort Worth, attended college in Florida, and moved back to Dallas when I met the love of my life. We have two beautiful boys, Maxxton and Miles, 7 years and 10 months. We moved to NWA in 2010 and have really enjoyed watching the growth. It is such a great place to raise a family. I have worked for Hull Dermatology and Aesthetics since 2011 as a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and specialize in all things laser. I love everything beauty related, spin class, coffee, and food. My husband and I love to cook and try new restaurants! I have recently started a small photography business and have fallen in love with capturing sweet moments!
I’m Lindsay. I met my husband of (almost) 11 years while working at a summer camp in Memphis, TN while I was in college at THE Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) and he was here at the UofA. I’m originally from Western PA, he’s from Springfield, MO; lots of roadtripping happened in our early years! We have an 8 year old girl and boy/girl twins who are 6. I am also the Director of Adult Development for Life Styles, a fabulous non-profit that serves adults with intellectual disabilities. During my non-existent free time, I like to pretend I’m crafty and create Pinterest fails, read the same paragraph three times without remembering what I’ve read, and sleep. As my kids have gotten older, they’ve kept me a NEW kind of busy and I’m excited to venture into a whole new realm of childhood with them!
Natalie Burchit is a working mom to two awesome teenagers, wife to one incredible guy and puppy parent to 2 lazy dogs. She has worked in non-profit community based programs in Northwest Arkansas and loves investing in our great region. You can find her on Saturday mornings running with the Bentonville running group at the back of the pack or enjoying a mocha at any one of the great coffee shops around town.
Hey ya’ll, I’m Kylie! I’m a Colorado native that has fallen in love with the Ozarks. I live in Harrison, where I’m raising my two wildlings (Ivan and Xander), and creating a life that gives me peace. I’m a certified holistic wellness practitioner, certified life coach, holistic nutrition coach, and I’m currently working on my doula certification. Becoming a mother changed me in every way, and my experiences with postpartum mental illness has strengthened my passion to empower other women and mothers to feel better. I’m a tell-it-as-it-is, highly empathetic person who thrives on the real, the raw, and the uncomfortable (because this is where we grow). I tend to take life too seriously. Luckily, I have been fortunate enough to share my life with Stephen (my husband) who not only comforts me with his strength and compassion, but is the only person who can make me laugh at myself—and the world. True to my “crunchy” disposition, I’m into yoga, hiking, food that is wholesome and real, homemade anything, gardening, looking at the sky, and I’m especially inclined to enjoy a good full moon circle, self-improvement books, chakra and energy healing, and hula hooping. I’m excited to connect with women and mothers in Northwest Arkansas. Namaste.
Hey guys! My name is Alicia and I am a transplant that now calls NWA home. I’ve moved around a lot and fortunately, I ended up here again – we love NWA. I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mom to a little superhero toddler (Spider-Man/Peter Parker/Hulk depending on the minute). I am a fun and friend seeker. In my spare time (what’s that?), I love to shop, patio sit and read. My days mostly consist of working out at Orange Theory and working in the CPG industry for company that I love. And most of all, I am blessed and I celebrate this crazy life I live every day.
Hi – I’m Melissa Stafford – I am happiest being a mommy to two busy and full of life boys. My husband, Chad, is pretty much the best thing, and my greatest supporter. God has done some amazing things in our marriage and family. I count it as a blessing to do life with my husband for 10 years! I wear many hats in my daily life, in my professional life I work for Funrise Toys. I get to play with Tonka Trucks, Gazillion Bubbles, My Little Pony, and My Life As Dolls daily! It’s because of my faith, it’s because of radical gratitude, that I am here today, here to share my story of how I mother, the personal challenges of having my children and growing in my faith. In my personal life I balance my life with daily yoga practice, keep our home organized and doing my best to live each moment in life as a family.
Hello! My name is Jordan. I am a wife and a working mother of two boys and one puppy. And we just started the process to become foster parents. We moved to the area in May of 2016 when I accepted a position at JB Hunt. We spend our weekends trying new places to eat, exploring Fayetteville and netflixing. I am also extremely involved with Camp Quality Arkansas, a camp for children with cancer and their siblings, as a camper coordinator.
